CLASS RESULTS

A big thank you to the committee of the Northern Newfoundland Club for a brilliant show, great venue, large ring and very relaxed and friendly, I had a fantastic day, judging superb quality dogs. I thank everyone who entered under me and allowing me to go over their lovely dogs. It was nice to see some promising youngsters, will watch with interest how they develop. If I were to make an observation, it is that exhibitors should not confuse "power and strength" with speed. Good construction and fitness will drive you around the ring.

Minor Puppy Dog (8,2)

1st - Mr P & Mrs A Paterson - Wilderland Dark Obsession: Old fashioned type dog, correct dentition, well boned, good depth of chest, well-turned stifle, moved well. BPD.

2nd - Ms S Baxter & Mr D Morris - Thickish Newfoundland Zokras Dance: Dark eye, needs time to mature, a little high in the rump at present but early days, movement good.

3rd - Mrs A P Springthorpe - New Angels My Guy At Millthorpe: Nice head, dark eye, another one that needs time, good level topline, moved freely and true.

1st - Mrs S Blake - Deeplove Infinity At Sandbears: Nice head, good dark eye and well set ears, good bone, nice cat like feet, deep chest, needs to drop into its shoulders, good bend of stifle, excellent movement.

2nd - Mrs P Byers & Mr I Smith - Solwaybay Fearless Flame: Head not as well developed as one, good bone, sets up well, level topline, moved well.

3rd - Miss L Shepherd - Ultra Marine For Shadow's Eternity: Big boy, masculine head somewhat loose in flews, good ear set, deep chest.

Junior Dog (4,1)

1st - Mrs S Blake - Sandbears Better Than Ever: Beautifully balanced young dog, lovely head, dark well set eyes, good bite, well boned throughout, excellent depth of chest and spring of rib, well-turned stifle, his superb balance ensured a well held topline and consequently he moved like a dream, a very well deserved RCC, great promise.

2nd - Mrs D McEvoy - Ticklecove Son Of A Witch: Good size throughout, old fashioned head, a little short in body, moved well.

3rd - Miss N & Mrs L Fotheringham - Sandbears Stop N Stare: Nice head, good bone, deep chest, moved a little close behind.

Graduate Dog (8,2)

1st - Mrs B Turner - Baranova Three Cheers: Solidly built dog, well developed head, short muzzle, well boned throughout, excellent fore-chest with well sprung ribs, moved well.

2nd - Mr M & Mrs P Leonard - Blacktide In The Name Of Love: More refined that one, well balanced, needs a little time to fill out. Excellent topline, deep chest, moved well coming and going.

3rd - Mrs D McEvoy - Ticklecove Son Of A Witch: As per Junior Dog.

Post Graduate Dog (10,3)

1st - Miss J Angus - Blacktide Deep Secret ShCM: Very close between one and two but just got it on movement on the day. Dark well set eyes, head type a little course for me, top-line maintained on the move.

2nd - Mrs J Cameron - Tremarcol Midnight Cowboy At Camnoire: Heavier type than one, good head type, well boned, nice topline, lost out on movement.

3rd - Mr J & Mrs T Mycock - Spirebear Dark Secret: Would have like a more masculine head, good bone, good topline and bend of stifle.

1st - Mr B & Mrs A Carr - Wuzibears Promanade To Sauvtage JW, ShCM: Lovely head, eyes a little light, well barrelled chest, perhaps carrying a little too much weight today, moved well.

2nd - Mrs P Byers & Mr I Smith - Solwaybay Telegram Sam: Good expression, head not as finished as one, ample bone throughout, moved well.

3rd - Mr W & Mrs C Lloyd - Cewrirdwr Llyn Cowlyd: A smaller dog than one and two, very good head and eye shape and colour. Ample bone and good lay of shoulder with nice reach of neck, large well shaped feet, level topline, moved well.

Open Dog (7,0)

1st - Mr W, Mrs A & Mr W T Dobbin - CH/IR CH Brooklynbear Nijinsky: Out of the top drawer and so hard to fault from his strong head to his muscular rear. Excellent head with ears and eyes set well, broad well developed skull, short square muzzle and just the right amount of stop. Muscular neck of good length into very good forehand and well boned straight front legs. Well sprung in ribs, broad in back and solid in topline. Covers the ground with such reach and drive. All topped by the best of coats and presentation, a real showman. Pleased to award him BBD, BBS, DCC, BIS.

2nd - Mrs S Blake - CH Sandbears Stride'N' Style JW: Good size male, excellent expression, nice dark eye, excellent reach of neck, correct top line, coat in excellent condition, a worthy champion, I have seen him move better.

3rd - Mrs C & Mr G Morrell - Morrelham Highland Park: Nice head with dark eye, good bone throughout, moved well fore and aft, well placed in good company.

1st - Mr R Furnell & Mr L Lydon - Safeharbour Kellermans At Furndonbay: Nice dark eyes, would have liked a little more bone, level topline, rear end movement good but a little loose at the front. BLD

2nd - Ms D Sarson & Miss J Watts - CH Swanpool Ti Amo Pasticcino JW: Very attractive head with good balance to the skull and muzzle, feminine soft expression. She has a good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, her excellent movement is what you would expect from her well-balanced structure, a firm level topline with a straight tail carriage.

3rd - Mr A & Mrs K Farrar - CH Darkpeak Fallen Angel: Feminine bitch lovely shape and topline held on move. Excellent strong neck, very well angulated in front and rear. Good rib cage.
