CLASS RESULTS & CRITIQUES
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge their lovely breed and I felt most honoured to be able to do so. A big thank you to the exhibitors for bringing your dogs for me to cast my eye over and I enjoyed going over such wonderful dogs. Thank you also to my able stewards who kept the ring and paperwork up to date. Overall I was very pleased with my lineups in both the dogs and bitch class winners and I felt my BIS met the breed standard to a tee overall the strength I feel lies in the bitches. Just a couple of points I noticed was muzzles are becoming too long and wrinkled which is not in the breed standard but pleased to say the last time I judged long ears were the problem but I didn’t find any on the day on the exhibits.

1st - Ms S & Mr D Baxter & Morris - Bearscove Sea Captain at Davistell ShCM: This dog oozed breed type everything fitted the bill. Correct masculine head eye and earset short square muzzle good dentition. Unfortunately was not co operating with his handler and was totally disinterested. Such a shame because he was a super dog. Perhaps at the age of seven he felt he had done enough. Presented in great condition.

Puppy Bitch (3,1)
1st - Mr K & Mrs K Hosie - Mississippi-Missouri Vellie for Shadowrise: Nine months old and lacked the bone I would have wanted on a Newfoundland puppy at the moment. Feminine head and a shapely body which needs plenty of time to body up and thicken through. She moved out well which bodes well.
2nd - Mr A G & Mrs K J Farrar - Darkpeak Starlight Express: Another youngster who needs time to develop a little rangy at the moment and again could be thicker set in bone. Moved out well.
