CLASS RESULTS & CRITIQUES
A breed I love so it was an honour and great pleasure to be invited to judge this club’s Championship show. The facilities were spot on and the ring perfect in every respect. The Officers and Committee had worked hard to ensure that no detail had been overlooked and I was made to feel very welcome. A very good entry greeted me with few absentees. My overall impression was of a healthy functional breed but no one can deny that the breed has a problem with eyes. Narrow rounded skulls were also evident as were narrow fronts and tied elbows. A few were too heavy carrying fat rather than substance. Coats and general condition were good – some are trimmed and some are shown more natural, it doesn’t affect me. The standard calls for little stop and broad skull so could someone explain to me the advantage of trimming the skull hair and then brushing it up? It doesn’t accentuate breadth but does accentuate the stop! Temperaments were excellent as was to be expected. The atmosphere throughout the day was a credit to all present and my gratitude goes to everyone involved for such a pleasant day.

Junior Bitch (7,1)
1st - Mr G J & Mrs T A & Misses E G & F L Coldwell - Zentaur How Fickle My Heart: Well this girl is me to a tee, I really loved her, her outline and construction are superb, movement is super sound and her carriage majestic, I considered her very seriously for higher awards but her development is spot on for her age which means she can still benefit from a little more spring of rib and substance, I am sure she has a fun filled time ahead.
