Minor Puppy Dog (7,0)

1st - Ms S Blake - Sandbears Mr America: 6½ months male of good size, masculine head good proportion muzzle to skull, good depth of muzzle, ears are well set but too big. Beautiful neck and topline, good shoulder and upper arm. Bone in harmony for his size, would prefer round cat feet, correct length of loin and croup, good tail set. Angulation in front in harmony with angulation in rear. Well presented correct puppy coat. Best Puppy Dog.

2nd - Mrs J A Woodhall - Queen Kellan Celtic Prince at Bearhugs: Puppy of good size masculine head, dark eyes and good expression, ears too big and low set, too much loose skin around the neck. Good shoulder and length of upper arm, masculine body for his age, good spring of rib, strong topline, correct croup set and length of tail, well angled in rear and good bones, correct puppy coat. Has the breed correct temperament, moves well coming and going.

3rd - Ms G Giambona - Tallisbay To The Heart of Trinashaws: Big boy, needs to develop in head, his muzzle is correct, correct stop which needs to broaden, eyes too round, would prefer a darker eye, correct bite, well set ears, correct length of neck, excellent shoulder and upper arm. Good bone for his size, a little long in loin. Would prefer more angulation in rear, correct croup and tail set, moves freely but topline could be firmer, correct coat.

1st - Mr D & Mrs Y Lindsay - Zodiac Rising for Shadows Eternity: 10 month old male, great size has the silhouette but needs time to grow on and broaden all over. Good proportions between muzzle and skull, would like to see more width in muzzle and skull. Correct ear set but too big, good reach of neck, excellent lay of shoulder, good length of upper arm. Correct proportions both height and length, correct coat, excellent rear angulation and side gate. Would prefer rounder cat feet.

2nd - Mrs J Cameron - Del Oso's Journey to Camnoire (Imp Ger): Standing this puppy took my eye, masculine head correct stop and muzzle. Beautiful expression, correct ear placement, good neck, topline needs to improve both standing and on the move. Bones in harmony for his age, correct puppy coat, at the end of his tail he has a kink. Well presented and lovely breed temperament.

3rd - Mrs S O'Sullivan - Fluffy Avalanch Boston for Trinitybay (Imp Rus): White & Black of medium size, would like broader muzzle, dark eyes but too big, good skull, correct ear set to shorter neck, straight shoulder, too short upper arm. Could do with losing a few pounds which you can see in his movement. Weak in topline, straight in croup, carries his tail proud, could have more rear angulation.

1st - Mr A G & Mrs K J Farrar - Cape Lewisporte Nirvana at Darkpeak (Imp Bel): 16 month male of good size, good head correct proportion between muzzle and skull. Correct bite, would prefer a darker eye, broad skull, well set ears of correct length, good reach of neck, strong topline but too long in loin. Good shoulder and upper arm. Bones in harmony for his size, not in full coat today but correct texture, good angles in rear, little high on hock. Correct length of tail moves with good reach from side, but close in rear, parallel in front, well presented. Could be more confident on the move.

2nd - Ms S Baxter & Mr D Morris - Bearscove Sea Captain at Davistell: Masculine head not overdone, correct proportion muzzle to skull, correct stop, would prefer a darker eye. Would like more length of neck. Acceptable shoulder, bones in harmony for his size. Correct rounded rib cage, croup too steep, tail set too low. A little overweight for today, nice temperament and coat.

3rd - Mrs P Lucas - Coltrana Legends of Time: Very nicely marked White & Black male, excellent head with a lot of correct breed type. Prefer more reach of neck, good shoulder placement and length of upper arm, would prefer more bone, good spring of rib, prefer stronger topline. Shown a little overweight, correct croup and tail set. Could be stronger in rear as you can see in his movement.

1st - Mr R & Mrs S E Land - Just For You Du Domaine De Flambeau (Imp): Big impressive dog, very masculine head, lovely proportions between muzzle to skull. Excellent expression, correct ear set, good reach of neck, correct shoulder and upper arm, would like to see more width in fore chest. Excellent bone for his size strong pasterns, correct feet. His topline needs to improve both standing and on the move, correct tail set and croup, correct rear angulation, correct volume in body for his age. Correct coat, excellent side gate, little narrow both coming and going.

2nd - Mr D & Mrs S Queen - Sandbears Catch Me If You Can at Queenbears: Good size male, masculine head, loose lips, has a slight overbite. Excellent expression, correct stop, would like more filled out under the eyes. Correct ear set, good reach of neck, good shoulder and upper arm, bones in harmony for his size, not in the best of coat today but correct texture. A little long in loin, could carry more volume in body for his age. Correct rear angulation, moves very nice from side, too close in rear.

1st - Mrs N V Austin - Baranova Big Bopper at Elbear JW ShCM: 22 months, good size male, excellent silhouette from side. He has depth of muzzle, would prefer a broader muzzle, correct stop, acceptable eye colour, skull could be broader, correct eyes but a little large, excellent reach of neck following over to excellent topline, excellent shoulder and upper arm, could have more width in forechest, prefer him a little shorter in loin. Excellent croup and tail set, excellent rear angulation, excellent coat and texture. Moves freely from the side but close behind.

2nd - Mr & Mrs D Cadman - Sassena Lovable Bryn: Brown male with masculine correct head, eye colour correct. Love his muzzle and skull, would prefer more reach of neck, good shoulder and upper arm, bones in harmony for his size, extremely happy for his food, correct length of loin, a little steep in croup, tail set too low, moves parallel, would like to see more power in gait, excellent coat.

3rd - Mr M P & Mrs J A Williams - Inkomo White Russian: A small male, would like to see more of him. He is in harmony all over, would like more muzzle, he has correct bite, light eyes, well set ears, enough neck but needs more bone. Flat feet, correct length of body, steep croup, low set tail, parallel coming and going.

1st - Ms S Blake & Ms F Riche - Deep Love Head Over Heels, JW: Very nice male of correct breed type not overdone in anything. He has a masculine head, beautiful expression, well set ears, excellent reach of neck, excellent shoulder and length of upper arm. Bones in harmony for his age, would prefer him a little shorter in loin, correct croup and tail set. Well angulated in rear, moved freely, close behind, could be more confident on the move otherwise very nice. Dog CC and BOB and BIS.

2nd - Mr C Sayle - Baranova Top Gallant: This dog took my eye as he entered the ring, well shaped head, loose eyes. Correct skull and muzzle, excellent reach of neck, strong topline, lacked undercoat today, correct harmony for his bones even for his age of 22 months. Needs more width in forechest, tremendous movement from side, a little close in rear, little loose in front, nicely presented. Reserve Best Male.

3rd - Mrs B Turner - Baranova Three Cheers: Excellent size masculine head not overdone, well set ears. Excellent reach of neck, good shoulder, correct length of upper arm, good bone, correct spring of rib, little long in loin, correct croup and tail set. Excellent coat, well angulated in rear, would like to see him more enthusiastic on the move, well presented.

1st - Mr D Bedford & Mrs S Ashdown - King Of Helluland Obsession To Win with Chateaunewf (Imp SWE): Good size male, head has a nice silhouette from side, needs a wider muzzle and skull. Too much lip. well set ears would prefer little smaller, excellent reach of neck, shoulder and upper arm bones in harmony for his size, excellent proportion between height and length. Flat in croup, too happy for his tail, good rear angulation, great side gate, clean coming and going, excellent temperament.

2nd - Mr I M Smith & Mrs P M Byers - Solwaybay Telegram Sam: Medium size male, masculine head, good proportion muzzle to skull. Correct eye colour but eyes a little too round, broad skull, well placed ears but too short neck. Short in upper arm, correct forechest, needs to lose some weight. Too short in loin too steep in croup, short tail, correct rear angulation, would like more power in his movement.

3rd - Mr J & Mrs T Mycock - Spirebear Dark Secret: Not the biggest of males, would like stronger head, muzzle too fine but has depth. Would prefer a darker eye, requires a broader skull, enough neck, good shoulder to short upper arm, needs more width in upper arm, topline weak both standing and on the move, croup too steep and tail too short. Excellent coat condition.

Special Open Black Dog (5,3)

I was not especially happy with this class, there could have been more depth of quality.

1st - Mr M P & Mrs J A Williams - Inkome White Russian: See 3rd in Post Graduate Dog.

2nd - Mr & Mrs K Hosie - Newfoundlove New Edition at Shadowrise IR J Ch: 3 year old male who is not in harmony, he has a masculine head but is destroyed by large light eyes, loose lips and short neck. Straight in shoulder, needs more width in forechest, excellent bone, nice cat feet, correct coat, too short in loin, croup is too flat and extremely happy with his tail which sometimes curls over his back, weak in rear end.

Special Open Brown Dog (3,1)

1st - Dr T Sepp - Merrybear What A Cracker: 7 year old male, excellent head type, strong muzzle, nice expression, good skull, correct ear set. Correct length of neck, a little low to the ground, bones in harmony to size. For a brown of his age he has excellent coat colour, correct croup and tail, well angulated in rear. Age starting to show in his movement, a little close in rear.

Special Open White & Black Landseer Dog (5,1)

1st - Mr W J & Mrs C E Lloyd & Ms S Baxter & Mr D Morris - Carlos Cancimo: Excellent marked White & Black male, would like to see more of him all over. Excellent proportion in head, beautiful expression which is very important for the breed. Correct length of neck, topline could be stronger, good shoulder and upper arm. Enough forechest for his age, correct volume in the ribs, correct croup and tail set, carries his tail correctly on the move, correct angulation on the rear, easy moving, clean coming and going.

2nd - Mr K, Mrs S & Miss A Walden - Joalta Storm Warning: Huge White & Black male who has a masculine head, correct proportion muzzle to skull. Correct bite, acceptable eye colour, little straight in shoulder, prefer longer upper arm even for his age. Beautiful reach of neck, long in loin, prefer stronger topline both when standing and on the move. He is unstable in his rear movement, would like to see more drive in rear end, out of coat today.

With the exception of my winner all these young ladies were all close on their rear end, something to watch for in the future of the Breed.

1st - Ms S Blake - Sandbears Miss Barbados: Strong femine bitch puppy, beautiful head not overdone, beautiful expression, well set but large ears. Good reach of neck going over to strong topline both standing and on the move. Correct angulation in front and rear, correct puppy coat, could have rounder paws, little long in loin but acceptable for a female, correct croup and tail set, free movement, this young lady requires more ring craft to settle. Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy In Show.

2nd - Mr G J & Mrs P Leech - Mileoak Aspects of Love: Nicely marked White & Black female, clean white, would like more skull, dark eyes. Correct bite, low set ears of correct size, little more neck would fit her, excellent bones for her size, good spring of rib, could lose some pounds, correct croup and tail set, good angulation, could have more power in her movement, little close behind, correct in front, nice temperament.

3rd - Mrs S Pallett - Sandbears Hawiian Hot Stuff: Good size for her age, would have liked a stronger muzzle, correct bite, needs more stop. Round dark eyes, well set ears, excellent reach of neck, exceptional topline, liked proportion of length and height, good bone for her size. Good spring of rib, correct croup and tail set, she is a little unstable in the rear end, would have liked to see her more open, correct puppy coat.

Correct coat texture, not in great coat today, good spring of rib, correct length of loin, correct tail set. Good rear angulation, moves well, excellent rear end.

2nd - Mrs B Turner - Baranova Be Blessed: Feminine bitch with lots of body, could lose some weight, very femine head with lovely expression. Good reach of neck, could have better shoulder, upper arm too short. Good bone and coat texture little wavy, good rear angulation, little close in rear, would like to see her extend on the move.

3rd - Mr & Mrs C Morrell - King Of Helluland Edge Of Glory for Morrelham: Large bitch, strong but still feminine, standing makes a nice picture. Good reach of neck, acceptable topline but does not hold topline on the move, very good bone for her size. Good spring of rib, correct loin, good croup and tail set, well angulated in rear but she is close behind and a little open in elbows.

2nd - Mr B W & Mrs S Wedlake - Ch. Alphabear Dancing Queen at Sealake ShCM: Good size bitch, femine head, nice dark eyes, good reach of neck, a little overweight but still holds her topline. Good shoulder and upper arm, good bone and spring of rib, correct croup and tail set, correct proportion height to length, good rear angulation and side movement. Little close in rear and wide in elbow, good coat and texture.

3rd - Mr W J & Mrs C E Lloyd - Ch. Cewrirdwr Llyn Geirionydd: Correct size bitch, femine head, correct proportion between muzzle and skull. Dark eyes, acceptable length of neck, straight in shoulder, short in upper arm, nice bone, good spring of rib, acceptable topline when standing and on the move. A little over angulated which you can see on the move, nice coat and very well presented.

Excellent reach of neck, strong topline when standing and on the move, very good angles in shoulder and upper arm, good depth and width in forechest, strong bones. Could lose a little weight, correct croup and tail set, correct angulation in rear, moving well from the side. Correct in front but close in the rear.

1st - Miss A Moir - Newgraden's Gold Dust: Medium size Brown bitch, lovely head shape, correct bite, even for a brown would have preferred a smaller dark eye. Strong skull, well placed ears a little too big, correct length of neck, good shoulder placement. Bones in harmony for her size, could have little more width in forechest, acceptable spring of rib, correct length of loin, prefer stronger topline but acceptable. Correct croup and tail set, good rear angulation, moves free from all sides.

2nd - Mrs P Leech - Nandobears Happy Heart and Soul: Standing this bitch was my winner, she is feminine with a very pretty head. Good proportion muzzle to skull, correct stop, she has the breed's lovely expression. Good reach of neck and shoulder placement, good upper arm, she is too long in loin and her topline is weak. Correct croup and tail set, good rear angulation, nice side gait, close in rear and loose in elbow. With more exercise this young lady will do much better in the future.

3rd - Mr R A & Mrs J Cunliffe - Sandbears Oh Cecelia: Medium size bitch, correct muzzle and stop, needs more back skull. Correct set but large eyes, acceptable length of neck, straight in shoulder, correct length of upper arm. Bones in harmony for her size, acceptable topline, steep in croup, proud of her tail, good rear angulation, good side gait, close in rear, needs to tighten in front, nice temperament.

Graduate Bitch (5,0)

1st - Mr W & Mrs K Main - Newgraden's Bootylicious: 13 month old Brown bitch, beautiful strong but feminine head. Eyes are correct colour for the coat, well set ears, beautiful reach of neck, would prefer stronger topline both when standing and on the move. Good shoulder angulation, bones in harmony for size, good spring of rib, correct length of loin, correct croup and tail set. Free moving, clean coming and going, beautiful colour for a brown, pleasing temperament. Reserve Best Bitch In Show.

2nd - Mrs P Leech - Nandobears Happy Heart and Soul: See 2nd in Junior Bitch.

3rd - Ms D Ball - Newgradens Llori Nanya JW: Brown bitch of good size, strong but feminine head, would prefer a softer expression. Correct ear placement, good reach of neck, good topline, little straight in shoulder and short in upper arm, good bone for her size. Her croup is too steep with low set tail, good rear angulation. This girl I would like to see moving more freely. Parallel in front, close in rear, well presented.

Large dark eyes, good reach of neck, topline could be firmer, bones in harmony for her size, acceptable shoulder, acceptable forechest, she is loose in elbow on the move. She could do with losing a few pounds, excellent coat today, excellent croup and tail set, correct rear angulation, nice short hock.

2nd - Ms J M Lindley - Sensitivity Bliss Nikita at Lindgreave (Imp Pol): Good size bitch, feminine strong head. Good proportion muzzle to skull, dark eyes well placed, correct placed ears. Good reach of neck, strong topline, croup too steep and tail set too low. Bones in harmony for her size, would like to see her happier in the ring and showing her tail. Excellent coat and presentation.

3rd - Mr & Mrs J W Austin & Ms S Baxter & Mr D Morris - Mercedes Cancrimo Z Lednickiego Zakola: 21 month old small Brown bitch. Would like more head and skull and breath of muzzle, sweet expression, well set ears, acceptable reach of neck, good shoulder placement and upper arm. Good spring of rib, too short in loin, well set tail, well angulated in the rear, tail to short. Happy on the move, well presented.

Limit Bitch (6,2)

In this class there were a few bitches I found temperament problems, the bitches looked lovely standing however on the move they were very nervous not displaying a true Newfoundland temperament - something to watch in the future.

1st - Ms S Archer - Tallisbay True Delight: Good size bitch, strong femiinne head, nice muzzle, would have preferred more filling under the eyes. Friendly expression, would like to see a broader skull, large but well set ears. Good reach of neck, good topline, good spring of ribs, front angulation in harmony with the rear angulation, moved well.

2nd - Miss M Burton - Tartandug Fantoosh: White & Black bitch, could have a stronger muzzle. Correct stop, dark eyes, prefer a broader skull, low set ears, good reach of neck, weak topline, too long in loin, good shoulder and upper arm, good forechest. Correct tail set, prefer more rear angulation, nice coat, sound on the move but could give more of herself, nice temperament.

3rd - Mr G J, Mrs T A & Misses E G & F L Coldwell - Zentaur How Fickle My Heart JW: Black bitch of good size. When I first saw her she gave the impression I'm the winner. Lovely outline, strong feminine head, beautiful reach of neck, good shoulder and length of upper arm. needs more forechest, too long in loin, she loses her topline on the move, correct croup and tail set, good rear angulation. Would like to see her moving freely, unstable on the rear end, shown in excellent condition.

1st - Mr W & Mrs A Dobbin - Dreamkeeper Brooklynbear's Shania: 2½ year old Black bitch, not the biggest. Very harmonious girl, beautiful feminine head with correct proportion muzzle and skull. Correct bite, lacks pigmentation which spoils the picture. Acceptable eye colour, beautiful reach of neck, strong topline when standing and on the move. Excellent front and rear angulation making her free and easy on the move. Good bone for her size, excellent coat and temperament, this is the stamp for the breed. Bitch CC.

2nd - Mr R J & Mrs C D Hobbs - Alphabear Halo: Huge Black bitch, very well built but too much for me. Strong head but feminine, correct bite, would prefer a darker eye, tremendous skull, well set ears, good reach of neck, good topline and good spring of ribs. Good length of loin, good croup and tail set, good rear angulation. In good coat today, nice free moving from all sides, a good ambassador for our breed, well presented.

3rd - Mrs J A Woodhall - Ch. Bearhugs Anya: Medium size bitch, would like to see more filled out under the eyes. Needs more skull, correct muzzle, well set ears, good reach of neck, good topline, straight in shoulder and short in upper arm. Needs more forechest, very open in front on the move, good spring of rib, good croup and tail set, good rear angulation. Could have better reach in side gait, close good coat condition.

Excellent coat texture, well-presented, lovely temperament.

Acceptable skull, low-set ears, straight in shoulder and short in upper arm, would like more forechest, good bone, well ribbed, good topline croup and tail set, could have better rear angulation, good side gait but open in the front, little close behind. Well presented.

2nd - Mr S L & Mrs Z L Johnson - Newgraden Born To Be A Pirate for Piratebears: Nice size Brown bitch, powerful feminine bitch. Would have preferred a darker eye, well set ears, excellent reach of neck, strong topline when standing and on the move, acceptable shoulder and upper arm. Would like more forechest, good bone but did not like her flat feet. Good spring of rib, excellent coat and colour, excellent croup and tail set, free movement, well presented.

Good shoulder and length of upper arm, good bone for her size, little long in loin, correct croup and tail set, correct coat texture just starting to lose her jacket. Parallel coming and going, very happy girl in the ring, a pleasure to see.
