“5 months old black and he really impressed me for his conformation, movement and temperament. His head is the correct shape and well balanced, with good eyes. His movement was remarkable for this age; coordinated and with good width and stride and his topline steady. I shall keep me eyes on him and hope he lives up to this great promise.”

“A substantial black dog of 8 years who is a little long for balance. Holds a good topline. Enjoying his day. Good rear movement. Needs a touch more angulation in front which shows in his movement. Soft expression which is such a feature of this breed. In firm condition and good coat.”

“12 months brown which I liked a lot and despite his youth was my choice for Best Brown In Show. He has very good size and bone and proportions and holds his firm topline on the move. Very good head but his eyes are a little large but the colour is appropriate. I liked his substance, rib and chest and he moved very well. Can just be a touch more confident with his tail carriage. Coat is changing and is a good colour.”

“A good class with two very good dogs at the top. 3 year old black presented in superb condition. He looked a picture of breed type and he didn’t disappoint on the move, holding his shape and going well at both ends. Lovely head type and correct eye shape and colour.”

“4 year old black who won the group under me at WKC last August but it is always interesting to see dogs in their breed ring. I commented then that I would prefer a bit more of him and I have not changed my mind on that but he has excellent bone and substance and there is no doubting his sex. In great form and looked like a galleon in full sail going round the ring. His head is balanced with lovely eye and neatest of ears and clean in lips. He can be a little cleaner in his front action, like many others and I felt there was nothing to beat him on the day. Presented to look a picture. CC and Best in Show.”

“2 year old black of similar type, just a liitle longer for balance. Beautiful head and lovely expression. Very good ribcage for depth, spring and length (I found more than a few short ribcages in this entry). Good mover but not quite the carriage of the winner. He is still a young dog and I think he will get even better. Reserve CC.”

“Third in the Graduate class. Smaller dog shown in great condition: his coat and presentation were excellent. Very fluent mover. He is very much a teenager in body.”

Beautiful head and eye, very sound action and good topline. Made the last four in the challenge and was Best Veteran in Show.”

“7 year old, another beauty and my winner at first glance with her beautiful outline and presented in top form. Loved her for head and balance and her great rear drive but on the day I preferred the front action of winner … but I was splitting hairs to separate them.”

“6 months beautifully marked Landseer who is remarkably sound and coordinated on the move. Her head needs time to develop in skull and muzzle but she has lovely eyes. Good topline with gentle slope to tailset. I hope she will develop a little more bone. Full of character. A lot of promise.”

“Took my eye immediately as a picture of breed type. This black of 22 months filled my eye, combining size, bone, substance with lovely head qualities. Absolutely sound on the move. In the challenge she just lost a little confidence at one point but I loved her and she won Reserve CC. I hope she will go on to greater things.”

“Another top quality one from this affix. Beautiful profile movement coming from excellent front and rear angulation. Lovely headpiece. Not as firm in topline as the winner whose couplings I preferred.”
